Summer Snow

The scent of campfire thick in the air, brings to mind summers spent sleeping under the stars, being one with nature, firelight dancing on the ground. This was not a happy smell anymore.

Ash fell like powdery snow, covering the ground, cars, and trees. An eerie glow suffused the world. All was dark, orange and yellow. Sunset came hours early. Sunrise brought the red sun. All was shades of fire.

This is the new normal in California. Nature thrown out of balance, exacting her vengeance. When will we learn?
